Coaching gives the manager/individual the opportunity to:
- learn through the development of real and current questions and problems in his/her leadership
- to carefully consider own assignment, responsibilities, mandates and goals
- increase self-awareness
- understand own reactions/behaviour and how they affect the environment
- find own strengths and develop them
- find own leadership style
- develop effective tools for problem solving / conflict resolution
The consultant’s role is to create a safe platform, where the individual is challenged to the next developmental step and to contribute with relevant theories. At the start we offer one or several personality tests, for example Personal Directions Inventory Test, LEA 360 degrees, Element B (our preferred behaviour). Individual coaching is a program that usually consists of 8–10 monthly meetings, 2 hours each. Group coaching involves a group, consisting of 4–7 managers/individuals, which meets monthly during about 4 hours, 8–12 times. The group learns about and works with different types of problem solving tools/work methods. The consultant has an over all responsibility to make sure the group dynamics work in a developing way. In group coaching we also work with creating different learning situations, for example experience based exercises and mirroring. .
